Nik’s Chicks is a FREE ladies only running/triathlon group. It is only a time and place to meet & a program to follow. I cannot join you on every run/workout. If you are new to exercising, it is advisable to have a doctor’s OK prior to beginning. Please sign my waiver (in “About”) and fill out my contact info sheet when you arrive for your first run. Please park on West Oak Trails Blvd or Nightingale to avoid the locking beeps and car doors closing around my neighbors’ houses – especially on Saturday mornings! We run Monday and Thursday evenings 8pm and Saturday mornings 8am from the corner of Redwing and Blackbird Courts. Check out Weekly Workout section for specific times.
Just a quick note to let you know we WILL be running tonight. There is no such thing as bad weather, just bad gear. It’s OK to get wet when you run! A peaked hat can keep raindrops off your face, avoid cotton (especially as a base layer) as when wet can be a major source of chaffing and after you get home (if your shoes are wet) slide the insoles out and loosely stuff shoes with newspaper to help dry them out, Don’t ever put running shoes in the dryer as it decreases the ability for foam to absorb shock. Embrace the rain – a nice drizzle can be invigorating. Remember that you will be prepared for any type of weather come race day by getting your training done in less than favorable conditions!
