Nik’s Chicks is a FREE ladies only running/triathlon group. It is only a time and place to meet & a program to follow. I cannot join you on every run/workout. If you are new to exercising, it is advisable to have a doctor’s OK prior to beginning. Please sign my waiver (in “About”) and fill out my contact info sheet when you arrive for your first run. Please park on West Oak Trails Blvd or Nightingale to avoid the locking beeps and car doors closing around my neighbours’ houses – especially on Saturday mornings! We run Monday and Thursday evenings 8pm and Saturday mornings 8am from the corner of Redwing and Blackbird Courts. Check out Weekly Workout section for specific times.
Tonight is mini triathlon/duathlon night at the McLaughlin residence! Bring everything you need for race day and give it a dry run – though it may be slightly soggy with some rain! You will set up your transition spot, have a quick 5 minute swim in my pool (wetsuits optional), transition to your bike, ride for 20-30 min, transition to your run, run at least 15 minutes or do your reg 5 km. This will give you an idea of what to expect on race day and work out some bugs. Ask lots of questions. Here is your gear checklist Triathlon Race Gear Checklist to help you figure out what you will need. Be sure to pack plastic bags to keep shoes and socks dry in transition. We will begin at 7:15 sharp. If you are doing duathlon, you will run 15 min, bike 20-30, and run 15 min or 5km. If you are doing triathlon, my pool can accommodate up to 3 swimmers at a time. Might need to do a couple of “waves”!
